Fall 2021 Opportunities
Noguchi Museum Teen Advisory Board- The Noguchi Museum’s Teen Advisory Board [TAB] is a paid internship for high school students. Each year, TAB interns plan projects that promote dialogue and inclusivity at the Museum. This year, TAB interns will focus their conversations around anti-racism. Service Learning Project Youth Board- If you are passionate about creating change in your community you can apply to join the Serving Learning Project's (SLP) Youth Board! You'll meet twice a month with the Board of the SLP to give advice about the impact you would like for them to help make where you live. YoungArts Competition- You can choose from a variety of disciplines to submit a work of art to compete in the national YoungArts competition! BRIC Youth Curatorial Fellowship- This opportunity allows you to pick and organize artwork created by other NYC High School students at BRIC's annual Youth Contemporary Art Exhibition. In other words, you get to pick and arrange the pieces that other people come to see! It looks great on your resume and on your college application! Youth Communication Teen Writers- This program helps you become a paid and published writer! You can get paid $100-$150 for every article you get published in Youth Communication's online magazine. You get mentored by full-time professional editors, learning memoir writing and journalism skills. Your writing could be published for thousands of readers through their publications and partners like Chalkbeat, or in Youth Communication curricula! Bridging the Gap- This program is for students who love their science and math classes so much that they want to take more! It offers courses in Science and Technology and it offers SAT Prep for free! Fall 2021 Opportunities
- Reel Works Doc Lab- Don't just watch films learn how to make one! The Doc Lab is a free introductory course to documentary filmmaking and no previous filmmaking experience is necessary. Students will be paired 1:1 with a professional filmmaker mentor to plan, shoot, edit and present a short personal film about their lives and communities.
