Arts and Enrichment Activities
All students receive various opportunities related to their college, career or personal interests throughout the year. The following are some of our arts enrichment activities, plus even more:
Outdoor ClubIn the Outdoor Club, BP students take trips to hiking trails, use navigation, bird watch, enjoy the great outdoors and make s'mores!
High School HeroesIn the Junior Achievement High School Heroes Program, students developed and taught lessons to local elementary school students;
Steve's CampAt Steve's Camp, students to spend 12 days away from the city and bond with other NYC students. They play team games, grow food, care for animals, and learn about the environment.
Young Lawyers ClubBPHS students visit law firms and learn about topics like voter rights from expert attorneys. Students get to express ideas and concerns about current social justice issues that they care about.
Science GeniusScience Genius is an initiative focused on utilizing the power of hip-hop music and culture to introduce youth to the wonder and beauty of science. Students work with #HipHopEd trained educators to create songs and spoken word pieces that align science with music. Every year they compete against other NYC schools at Columbia University. BPHS has won four years straight!

Job ShadowsAll students receive job shadow opportunities throughout the year. Previously our students have experienced job shadows at: AT&T, AT Carney, Marvel, ABC News, the New York Stock Exchange and many more!
Girl Be Heard
Business Plan CompetitionDuring the Digitas Business Competition, students are mentored by Digitas employees to create their own business. Successful student teams go through four rounds of competition for a chance at a cash prize.
Reel WorksWith Reel Works students learned about the film and production process through creating their own films.
Dance TeamOur dance team works hard with choreographers to create pieces that they perform during the fall and spring talents shows, showcases and other events throughout the city!
